Orange Angel Food Cake with Spicy Pear Salsa

Spice up a fluffy angel food cake with this fresh pear salsa. Makes for a great summer dessert!

  • Orange Angel Food Cake
  • 1 box angel food cake mix
  • 1 ¼ cups orange juice
  • Spicy Pear Salsa
  • 3 cups USA Pears, cored and cubed
  • 1 ½ cups strawberries, halved
  • 1 ½ cups mango, peeled and cubed
  • ¾ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon curry powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Prepare and bake angel food cake as directed on package, substituting orange juice for water. Invert and cool completely.

Place pears, strawberries, and mangoes in a large bowl. Whisk orange juice, brown sugar, curry powder, and black pepper until blended. Pour over fruit and mix until blended. Serve 1 slice angel food cake with ½ cup salsa.
