We Appreciate the USDA!

I just returned from a conference in Washington, DC, and had the opportunity to meet with our partners from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  Did you know that the USDA has over 107,000 employees?  That’s quite a group working on farming research, nutrition information, and promoting the United States’ vast bounty of crops, which of course include USA Pears.

The USDA also has 100 offices located in 77 countries, which help make it possible for people around the world to shop for and enjoy fresh, sweet USA Pears.  This globe made from seed packets is located outside the USDA headquarters in DC, is a great representation of how the USDA works to connect the world through agriculture!

About Lynsey

I work with USA Pear marketing offices that work in 38 countries all over the world: from Latin America to the Middle East, from Europe to Southeast Asia and places in between, our representatives serve markets on every continent except Antarctica. I love the opportunity to practice my Spanish and pick up new phrases in other languages (even if it’s just the basics of “hello,” “goodbye,” “thank you” and of course “pear”: pera, birne, гру́ша [GROO-sha], and more to come). I’ll be sharing highlights of the exciting and interesting activities that are taking place to promote USA Pears around the world. My favorite pear variety is Comice. Yum!
