DIRECTIONS

By using florist foam to create a solid base you can create an arrangement with more stability, which gives you a little more flexibility in arranging elements. Tie the florist foam into your plastic saucer with florist wire. Insert some longer stems of leaves into the bottom of the foam, in a spray that appears to be spilling out. Place wooden picks into the bottom of the pears, and begin securing them in the foam, working from the center out. Alternate varieties of pears and fill in with leaves, peppers and grasses. Trim down any of the stems that are too long for your arrangement.

Note: Place cards [hyperlink] add a festive touch to holiday tables. They will stand up straight if you slice off the bottom of the pear to make a flat surface. Set it on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Attach the card with a beautiful pin, or a twig and some tape.
